1. Acknowledge that you’re a sinner and that the penalty   

    for sin is death.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

 

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."- Romans 6:23

 

2. Realize, while you were a sinner, Jesus died for you.

 

"For when we were without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare die. But God demonstrated His own love towards us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." - Rom 5:6-8

 

3.Believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him into your life.

"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ...13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."-Romans 10:9,10,13
